The BPJS Health Fees Rise, This Is The Latest Amount Of Levies
JAKARTA - The government has finally implemented an increase in the Health Social Security Administering Body (BPJS) contributions for independent class III participants starting early this year.
Special Staff to the Minister of Finance Yustinus Prastowo said that the increase in fees was an effort to adjust the change in subsidies for participants who received assistance from the state.
"The fee is still Rp. 42,000, it's just that the amount supported by the participants and the government has changed the portion," he said recently.
For information, adjustments to the BPJS Health program contributions have been adjusted based on Presidential Regulation (Perpres) 64/2020 concerning Health Insurance in July 2020. On its way, the Supreme Court annulled the government's decision.
In the Presidential Decree 64/2020, it is stated that independent class III participants are required to meet the obligation of a contribution of Rp. 42,000 with a subsidy from the government of Rp. So, people who are registered in this class only pay IDR 25,500 per month.
Then, in the latest regulation that came into effect January 1, 2021, the value of the subsidy was cut to Rp. 7,000. As a result, independent class III participants are required to meet the remaining dues of Rp. 35,000 per month.
The following is the amount of BPJS Health contributions that must be paid by beneficiary participants starting from the beginning of 2021:
Independent participants (non-wage earners / PBPU and non-worker / BP) - Class I: IDR 150,000 - Class II: IDR 100,000 - Class III: IDR 35,000
Wage earning workers (PPU) - Workers contribute 1 percent of their total salary - Employers / companies contribute 4 percent of the total salary of workers / employees - Upper limit / maximum salary calculated is IDR 12 million
Recipient of contribution assistance (PBI) - The government has paid a fee of Rp. 42,000
