Rizieq Shihab's Lawyers Team Will Present 5 Witnesses And 3 Experts To The Pre-Trial Session
JAKARTA - Rizieq Shihab's team of lawyers said that they would present 5 witnesses and 3 experts in the pretrial lawsuit trial. They will be presented on Thursday, January 7th.
The number of witnesses to be presented was conveyed by the lawyer after the sole judge at the trial Akhmad Sahyuti asked a question about the applicant's plan to present witnesses.
"How many witnesses ?," asked Sahyuti during a trial at the South Jakarta District Court, Monday, January 4.
One of Rizieq's team of lawyers answered that his party had prepared it. At least 8 people will be presented. They will provide information regarding the incorrect determination of the suspect against Rizieq.
"There are 5 witnesses, 3 experts," he said.
Sahyuti said that the statements of witnesses and experts from the applicant's side would be heard on Thursday, January 7. Meanwhile, witnesses from the defendant party will be given the opportunity on Friday, January 8.
"That means it is Thursday (witnesses and experts of the petition). Friday the defendants," he said.
Rizieq Shihab submitted a pretrial application to challenge the determination of the suspect in the case of crowds and violations of health protocols (prokes) in Petamburan, Jakarta.
Rizieq Shihab's pretrial lawsuit has been registered with number 150 / Pid.Pra / 2020 / PN South Jakarta, dated December 15.
Rizieq Shihab was named a suspect in the case of alleged crowd and health protocol violations, on Thursday, December 10. Not only Rizieq, in that case, the police also named five other suspects.
Rizieq was charged with Articles 160 of the Criminal Code and 216 of the Criminal Code. Meanwhile, the other suspect was charged with Article 93 of Law Number 6 of 2018 concerning Health Quarantine. Rizieq has been detained since 12 December. Rizieq is currently in a drug detention cell at Polda Metro Jaya.
