Students Bring 1 Kg Of Sabu Flying From Kualanamu Transit Airport Jakarta Until He Is Secured At Haluoleo Airport Kendari
The Southeast Sulawesi (Sulteng) Regional Police (Polda) thwarted an attempt to circulate 1 kilogram (kg) of methamphetamine from Aceh.
Director of the Narcotics Investigation of the Southeast Sulawesi Police, Kombes Pol. Bambang Tjahjo Bawono, said the illicit goods were secured from a student with the initials ZH (21) in the courtyard of Haluoleo Airport in South Konawe Regency.
"The suspect's initials ZH was arrested on Friday (February 3) in the courtyard of Haluoeo Airport at around 16.10 WITA starting from information we received some time ago and we are concerned to follow up on the information issue," he said in Kendari, Central Sulawesi, Monday 6 February.
He explained that initially his party received information about narcotics smuggling from Aceh which was about to be brought to Kendari City.

"Then when we left in the airport yard, we immediately secured the suspect from working with airport security partners, including the Air Force POM," he said.
He mentioned the role of the suspect, who is still a student, as a courier from the network of dealers above him.
To the police, the suspect admitted that he was ordered by the dealer to deliver the goods to Kendari City. Suspect ZH at the moment of the 2023 New Year celebration had visited Kendari for the orientation of the location of the drug shipment.
After the orientation, the suspect ZH was ordered by the city above him to return to Aceh. Then on Friday, February 3, the suspect admitted that he was ordered by the dealer to go to Kendari City carrying the illicit goods.
The suspect brought the illicit goods by putting it in a suitcase that had been folded in a cloth fold, then putting it in the trunk.
He explained that the suspect flew through North Sumatra Kualanamu Airport (North Sumatra) to Jakarta to transit and continue to Kendari City or Haluoleo Airport.
"Arriving at Haluoleo Airport, the trunk was just taken, then we managed to secure it. The evidence that we managed to confiscate was 1,028.2 grams. We have checked this in the laboratory and the result is positive, namely methamphetamine," he explained.
As a result of his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) subsidiary Article 112 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with the threat of death penalty, maximum imprisonment of 20 years, with a maximum fine of IDR 10 billion.
Bambang added that his party would coordinate with the airport management regarding the case. Moreover, according to him, the passing of narcotics is not the first time this has happened by air, in order to protect the nation's generation in the jurisdiction of the Southeast Sulawesi Police.
"We will ask airport officials how the procedure is for securing or sorting goods related to the problem of methamphetamine. And this happened several times, so we will cooperate, coordinate how to carry out security procedures so that the goods do not pass again," he said.
