Check Again The Police Regarding The Shooting Of 6 FPI Laskar, Komnas HAM: The Incident Becomes Brighter
JAKARTA - The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) is again conducting an examination of the police regarding the shooting incident of six Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) soldiers on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road.
After conducting the investigation, Komnas HAM Commissioner Beka Ulung Hapsara said that this case had become clearer and hoped that this would be the last time it was investigated.
"The events have become clearer. We hope this is the last request for information from the police," Beka told reporters at his office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Monday, January 4.
This hope is conveyed because Komnas HAM has a target no later than the next two weeks, to complete its report before submitting its recommendations to various parties including the president.
"In accordance with what we have said, no later than two weeks we will complete the next report concluding what kind of events happened," he said.
"Then, (Komnas HAM, ed) submitted recommendations to the president, police, and other parties. Because those involved are not only the police and also the ones who pay attention not only to the president but also to the public," he added.
After a recommendation has been made regarding this case, Beka hopes that all parties can carry it out without exception.
Meanwhile, regarding the results of the police investigation which was held starting at 10.00 WIB, Komnas HAM has investigated several matters. One of them, regarding the voicenote or voicemail that was there when the shooting took place.
In addition, the case investigation team also carried out case construction to detail the shooting incident that occurred on Monday, December 7, 2020 in the morning.
"(We, red) conducted a deepening of some information related to voice notes and also detailed several events sequences and were attended by reconstructing several events that we still need to study," he said.
"So, we thank you for being accompanied by friends from the police. I think Komnas HAM appreciates this openness and completeness, I think," said Beka.
Previously reported, the shooting incident of six FPI troops occurred at around 00.30 WIB Monday, December 7 in the morning.
Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran said that this case began when the police received news that the mass of supporters of Rizieq Shihab would be deployed in connection with the investigation called Inspector General Fadil circulating in many WhatsApp groups.
Furthermore, a team from Polda Metro Jaya conducted an investigation into the correctness of the information and followed the vehicle Rizieq was in. On the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road, Fadil said the officers' vehicles were intercepted and then attacked using firearms and sharp weapons.
However, this was denied by the FPI Spokesperson, Munarman. Munarman emphasized that Rizieq had traveled to attend recitation at the residence of his immediate family.
Munarman also denied that Rizieq's followers had firearms. Because of this, Munarman emphasized that no gunfight was carried out by the police and members of the laskar prior to the incident that killed the six FPI troops.
Regarding the difference in this version, Komnas HAM then intervened by forming an investigation team and has carried out a number of parties including the Head of the Metro Jaya Police, Inspector General Fadil Imran, to the doctor who conducted an autopsy on the six bodies of FPI members.
