Abu Bakar Ba'asyir Independent, Police Will Provide Control And Supervision
JAKARTA - The National Police confirms that they will provide security for Abu Bakar Ba'asyir, who will be released on Friday, January 8. Abu Bakar Ba'asyir is free after serving a 15-year sentence with a 55-month remission cut.
"So, whether there is a request or not, it is the duty and responsibility of the National Police to secure the security and security situation," said Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan to reporters, Monday, January 4.
Apart from that, the National Police will also monitor Abu Bakar Ba'asyir after his release. The reason is that every prisoner who has been released from the correctional facility will be monitored so that they do not repeat the crime.
"We will continue to monitor the intelligence ranks of people who have committed criminal acts. Whatever we have to secure someone's movements, we will always monitor them," he said.
Abu Bakar Ba'asyir is a terrorist convict. He was sentenced to prison on June 16, 2011 with a sentence of 15 years in prison.
The verdict was given because Abu Bakr Ba'asyir was proven to be involved in a criminal act of terrorism. He planned and raised funds to finance military training in Aceh.
