Heartache, Assisting As Long As It Is Found Dead After The Death Of Mount Sagara Garut
GARUT - A climber from Temanggung, Central Java died of suspected heart disease after climbing Mount Sagara, Sucinaraja District, Garut Regency, West Java, then based on his desire during his life asked to be buried around the mountain if he died while climbing.
The head of the Wanaraja Police, which covers the Sucinaraja District, AKP Maolana, Sunday, confirmed that one of the climbers named Taat Puji Prihatin (58) died of a heart attack after climbing on Saturday afternoon.
"Had took photos around the 'base camp' after the Ashar prayer, he then ordered sweet tea from the shop owner, and after that suddenly fell and immediately fell unconscious," said Maolana, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, February 5.
He said the police received reports of climbers who died in the Gunung Sagara area, then personnel headed to the location to conduct an investigation of the crime scene and then asked for statements from a number of witnesses in the area.
Based on witness testimony, he said, the victim arrived at the foot area of Mount Sagara Saturday morning with a companion, then climbed to the top of the mountain at around 13.00 WIB.
"Not long after, they were in the top of the mountain area and immediately went down again, at around 16.30 WIB they arrived at the 'base camp' and immediately rested," he said.
The police chief said that the victim then had time to perform the Ashar prayer, after that he went to the shop to order sweet tea drinks, not long after the victim fainted and fell, then assisted by visitors and guard officers.
The unconscious victim was immediately taken to a local resident's house, but when he arrived at a resident's house, the victim was declared dead. Residents then took him to the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) dr Slamet Garut at 21.00 WIB.
The police chief said that based on the victim's family's request, the climber's body was not conducted an autopsy, then his family also asked not to be brought back to his hometown based on his mandate.
In his mandate, said the police chief, if the victim died while climbing the mountain, then his body must be buried around the mountain where he was the last climb.
Based on the request of the family as outlined in the statement letter and signed by the two children of the victim, namely Olivia Wardhani and Kevin Maulan Mohammad, the bodies were then buried in a public cemetery around the Mount Sagara area.
The statement also conveyed the wishes of the victims' families to the community and guard officers of Mount Sagara to carry out the process of managing the bodies according to Islamic law.
"The statement includes explaining if they allow the body of the deceased to be buried in the Sagara area," he said.
