Let Spotify And Phone Link Come For Windows 11 Widgets After Messenger
JAKARTA - Microsoft just launched its first third-party widget for Windows 11 with Meta's Messenger app, and this week it's Spotify's turn to come with Windows 11 build 25290.
The new gadget, launched for Insiders users on the Dev Channel, will give them quick access to playlists, so they can start playing favorite music there.
Based on a screenshot released by Microsoft, the new Spotify widget gives users the ability to start a recommended playlist.
In addition, there is also a new widget for Microsoft's Phone Link app. With the Phone Link app in the widget, it will display content such as battery information for connected user phones as well as the latest messages from it.
The addition of the Spotify widget today comes about a week after Microsoft announced Meta will also add Messenger widgets to Windows 11. The app now has preview versions of its available widgets.
As usual, to get this widget, users only need to update the app to the latest version available on the Microsoft Store. Then, go to the widget and click + to add widgets, where they will find an installed app.
Users will also start seeing more widgets available now because the Windows App SDK 1.2 allows developers to create them, although they are still exclusive to the Insider Dev Channel.
Selain widget baru, Windows 11 build 25290 hanya membawa sedikit perubahan pada menu Start, khususnya pada menu pengguna, seperti dikutip dari XDA Developers, Jumat, 3 Februari.
Microsoft is experimenting with a new (UI) interface that displays a warning when users may need to take certain actions related to their account. For example, users may be asked to backup data using OneDrive.
Since the widget is limited to building the insider, the widget is only available to try by the developer. It is currently unclear when both widgets will be available in a public release to try on everyone.
