Not Exploring The 2024 General Election, Surya Paloh To Golkar Is Assessed Because NasDem Is Still Clean In The Government Coalition

JAKARTA - Executive Director of Indonesian Political Indicators Burhanuddin Muhtadi assessed that the visit of the General Chairperson (Ketum) of the NasDem Party Surya Paloh to the headquarters of the Golkar Party was a form of seeking political support amid the discourse on a cabinet reshuffle or reshuffle.

The reshuffle discourse was confirmed by the Secretary General of PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto. Hasto encouraged the NasDem ministers to be evaluated during the discourse of reshuffle after Anies Baswedan's declaration as NasDem 2024 presidential candidate.

Therefore, NasDem views the need to build a joint alliance, at least for the short term. Including, said Burhanuddin, because there is rivalry with PDIP.

"So Surya Paloh wants to get political support from the party that has given birth, namely Golkar and at the same time exploring the possibility of a 2024 coalition map," he said in a written statement received on Friday, February 3.

Burhanuddin said that Surya Paloh's visit to Golkar, not to PDIP, could also be interpreted as NasDem, not wanting to be left behind by a coalition supporting the government.

In the midst of the warming relationship between NasDem and PDIP, previously a number of high-ranking Nasdem officials also visited the Gerindra Party, not the white-nosed party.

"This is a matter of choice where the assessment is held, showing that Golkar, Gerindra, or PDIP, is still in NasDem's planning in the map towards 2024. But for the PDIP context, it seems that Nasdem has difficulty, because there is no assessment at all there. The choice of the place shows the political language we catch about the 2024 political map," said Burhanuddin.

However, regarding the investigation of NasDem to PDIP, it is difficult to achieve the supporting affairs in the 2024 election between the two parties. So far, he said, NasDem only wants to be close to a coalition supporting the government.

"In the context of internal politics in a heated coalition, especially after Nasdem declared Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate, NasDem needs friends, especially in the context of secretly and openly rivalry in the internal coalition," said Burhanuddin.

However, according to Burhanuddin, there is actually still a common ground for NasDem to bring the presidential candidate he promoted Anies Baswedan in a coalition approved by the Palace. For example, if NasDem brought the former governor of Jakarta to the United Indonesia Coalition.

Then Anies' vice presidential candidate will be one of the general chairmen who are members of KIB. I think this is one of the options so that Anies is not considered an antithesis from Jokowi," he concluded.
