JAKARTA - Governor of South Sulawesi (Sulsel) Andi Sudirman Sulaiman appealed to the public to be vigilant and follow safety rules on the railway line to prevent accidents.
Andi Sudirman Sulaiman, said that as a beginner to the use of trains in South Sulawesi, you must be more careful and vigilant and follow the rules related to safety and activities in the railway line area.
He also expressed his concern and condolences for the train accident, including sending a team to the funeral home to provide compensation for the victim's family.
"We are sorry and condolences to the family of the late Lasudin, we have also sent a team to the house of the deceased to provide assistance," said Andi Sudirman Sulaiman in his statement quoted by Antara, Friday, February 3.
The same thing was conveyed by the South Sulawesi Transportation Service (Dishub) and the South Sulawesi Railway Management Center (BPKA) when visiting the deceased's residence in Bottolai, Barru Regency.
"We are sorry for the victims of the train accident of the late Lasudin in Barru Regency, on the orders of the Governor of South Sulawesi we have also coordinated with BPKA and visited the residence of the deceased, of course this incident will be a special note and concern for the South Sulawesi Transportation Agency," said Head of the South Sulawesi Transportation Agency Muh Arafah.
Based on the chronology, BPKA South Sulawesi explained the incident of pedestrians being hit by a train while crossing, at 10.45 WITA, Wednesday (1/2/2023), at KM 87+400 between Barru Station and Tanete Rilau Station.
"After cross-checking the field, the victim was identified as Lasudin (52), when he was about to cross through the railroad line by guiding a bicycle between Barru Station and Tanete Rilau Station," said Head of the Utilization Section for the Rail Facilities of BPKA South Sulawesi Rachmat Dalu.
