MU Refuses Atalanta's Wish To Use Diallo's Services Until The End Of The Season
JAKARTA - Manchester United will reject Atalanta's efforts to keep Amad Diallo in order to defend the Serie A club until the end of this season. United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to immediately attract the teenage winger to Old Trafford this month.
Diallo was bought by United from Atalanta on the final day of the October transfer window for 21 million euros, but the Red Devils allowed the Italian club to use the player while United secured a work permit in England for the 18-year-old.
United have reportedly received a Governing Body Exemption for Diallo after speaking with the English Football Association which will make the Ivorian-born player into Solskjaer's squad this month.
However, last Saturday, Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini admitted that he wanted the player to continue to strengthen the Bergamo-based team until the end of the 2020-2021 season.
"For sure he will go to Manchester United. But he can still be here with us for a few more months. I really like him, he is only 18 years old. I would be happy if he remained until June, of course it depends on the club. , "said Gasperini as quoted by Antara, Monday.
Sources have told ESPN that Diallo will arrive at Old Trafford this month and there are no plans to be loaned out at Atalanta again.
Solskjaer himself stated that Diallo needed time to adjust to life in England.
"I don't see any obstacles, he will be with us," said Solskjaer. "We are happy to bring him in. He has proven his quality, but he must get used to playing in England."
