Barcelona Beat Huesca When Messi Makes 500 La Liga Matches
JAKARTA - Barcelona beat Huesca's caretaker team by a narrow score of 1-0 when Lionel Messi reached the 500-match milestone in the highest caste of the Spanish League in a match at El Alcoraz, Sunday local time (Monday WIB).
Messi adorned his monumental score by providing an assist for Barcelona's winning goal scored by Frenkie de Jong in the 27th minute.
La Pulga brushed the left flank of Barcelona's attack before unleashing a measured cross which De Jong finished with a header to nock the ball into the bottom corner.
Messi himself actually had the opportunity to color his 500th match with a goal in the ninth minute, unfortunately his volley was off target.
Then in the 41st minute, Messi got the opportunity to score a goal with a typical free kick, unfortunately his kick ball which had just entered the goal was pushed over by goalkeeper Aitor Fernandez.
Fernandez made another save in the 68th minute, to prevent Messi from scoring with a bow at the near post area.
Apart from Messi, it seems that his Barcelona colleagues are far from the best performance level, the streak they are facing is only the caretaker team so that the 1-0 lead turns into a victory at the end of the match.
