Yasonna Must Be Responsible For The Existence Of Harun Masiku

JAKARTA - The suspect in the case of alleged interim replacement bribery (PAW) member of the House of Representatives (DPR) Harun Masiku has yet to be found. Disagreements also occurred regarding the whereabouts of Harun Masiku.

In the aftermath, the Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) Yasonna Laoly fired the Director General of Immigration Ronny Sompie from his post. Many consider, if the dismissal was due to a blunder in confirming the existence of Harun Masiku.

This case also dragged PDIP as the party that carries the name Harun Masiku. On the other hand, former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan was also dragged into receiving bribes when determining Riezky Aprilia, the PDIP candidate from the South Sumatra I electoral district who received the most votes after Nazarudin Kiemas.

Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) researcher Kurnia Ramadhana assessed that Yasonna Laoly should take responsibility for the erroneous data regarding the whereabouts of Harun Masiku.

"It would be better if Yasonna Laoly was also removed by President Jokowi. Because, after all, he is the highest authority of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. The fact is that he has said it is not in accordance with the facts regarding the existence of Harun Masiku. So Yasonna should take responsibility for today's situation," he said, when contacted by VOI, in Jakarta, Wednesday, February 5.

Moreover, said Kurnia, the effect of the erroneous data was very crucial, the work of law enforcement was disturbed because they simply believed Yasonna's statement.

Meanwhile, Coordinator of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) legal team I Wayan Sudirta insisted on asking all parties not to badly judge the Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) Yasonna Laoly regarding the absence of Harun Masiku. Moreover, according to him, Yasonna has carried out his duties as minister well.

"Don't let the public have too much prejudice to him. Attacking, cornering the Menkum HAM with estimates or conjectures. With attitudes without data while the Minister does work based on data," he said.

Wayan explained that the news regarding Ronny Sompie's removal was a mistake. Because, Ronny was only transferred from the position of Director General of Immigration to another position. This step is called as a firm form of the Minister of Justice and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly in answering public questions regarding the whereabouts of Harun Masiku. This was also proven by the formation of an independent team to track down the former PDIP cadre.

"The independent team has enough elements to reflect that this independent team is worthy of trust, worthy of waiting for the results, and worth waiting for the statement," he said.

Police Efforts to Locate Harun Masiku

The KPK is also partnering with the National Police to find out the whereabouts of the PDIP politician Harun Masiku. The KPK even included Harun's name on the wanted list or DPO, because he was still at large.

National Police Chief General Idham Aziz said the search page for Harun Masiku as a KPK fugitive had also been distributed at the Polda to Polsek levels throughout Indonesia. So, if in the future Harun Masiku's presence is monitored in one area, the police will immediately follow up.

"I have ordered the Head of Criminal Investigation to send all DPOs to all Polda, 34 Polda and all Polres. So all members of the Police already hold DPOs for suspect HM," said Idham in Jakarta, Wednesday, February 5.

The effort to find this bright spot is solely to help anti-graft agencies in handling corruption cases. In addition, if Harun's figure has been found, the National Police will immediately hand him over to the KPK.

"We just pray that hopefully later the Police will find it, of course we will hand it over to the KPK. We are providing assistance to the KPK based on a letter submitted to the Police," said Idham.
