Improve Tax Awareness, Ministry Of Finance Officialized Tax Center At The PGRI Sumenep Campus
The Directorate General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance has just inaugurated the Tax Center at the PGRI Sumenep Teacher Training and Education College (STKIP), East Java as part of efforts to increase and expand tax awareness in the campus environment.
Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes, Agustin Vita Avantin, said that this facility is also an important facility in introducing the tax function to the wider community.
"The tax center is an institution in a university that functions as a center for studying, research, training, and socialization of public taxation," he said when giving a press statement, Thursday, February 2.
Agustin explained that the Tax Center also functions to create harmony between universities and the Directorate General of Taxes and the government.
"Until now, in the East Java II DJP Regional Office, there have been 18 Tax Centers that have entered into cooperation agreements," he said.
According to Agustin, the Tax Center STKIP PGRI Sumenep is the 4th Tax Center on Madura Island and the 19th Tax Center in the East Java II DJP Regional Office.
For information, tax revenues contribute about 65 percent of state revenue in 2022. Three other revenue instruments that support customs and excise, non-tax state revenues (PNB), and grants.
Meanwhile, last year's realization of tax revenue was IDR 1,716.8 trillion or 115.6 percent of the set target of IDR 1,485 trillion.
