The Son Of A Member Of The Wajo DPRD Was Immediately Detained By The Police After Beating The Parking Officer
The Wajo Regency Police, South Sulawesi finally named the son of a member of the Wajo DPRD with the initials ASW as a suspect. In fact, he was immediately detained after beating the parking attendant who was caught on CCTV so that it went viral on social media.
"The matter is already a suspect. He is cooperative in coming to the office and we immediately detained him," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Wajo Police, Adjunct Commissioner of Police (AKP) Theodorus Echal Setiawan, when confirmed on Thursday, February 2, as reported by Antara.
The suspect was charged with Article 351 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code concerning persecution with the threat of imprisonment for two years and eight months.
So far, investigators are still processing the case, including examining victims related to alleged cases of abuse. The perpetrator is known to be the son of Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the Wajo DPRD, Zainuddin Ambo Saro.
Previously, the victim's beating named Suwandi, a parking attendant, was beaten by the suspect while attending a wedding. The incident was caught on CCTV until the video went viral on social media.
Initially, the victim directed the suspect's vehicle for parking right in front of the MR DIY equipment store, Jalan Andi Pagggaru, Teddaopu Village, Sengkang City on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, so that it would come forward slightly and not hinder other vehicles. But the perpetrator did not respond until there was a verbal altercation.
Then, officers from the Transportation Service who were at the scene were summoned to provide a solution, but were ignored. The perpetrator immediately went to attend a party in the building adjacent to the local shop.
After a while, because a shop customer's vehicle broke down, the victim pushed him back, but suddenly from behind the victim was beaten and kicked by the perpetrator.
The victim also reported the alleged abuse to the Wajo Police, including a post-mortem at the hospital because he had a wound on his face.
Meanwhile, the version of the perpetrator ASW stated that the viral video was incomplete. He also provided clarification through his social media video that the incident was caused by offense. He argued, because the parking attendant was touched with harsh words, until he got emotional about hitting him after attending the party.
"My wife is pregnant and can't go far. If necessary, I will give her parking fees and maybe I will only go up to the building for a while and come back again. Before going above the building, this parking attendant shouted at me in Bugis. said it in my tradition of being pakkari (made ashamed). There were also Dishub officers intervene, "he said.
He also admitted that he had committed an act and made a mistake in the age of the incident at that time and had apologized to the victim through his personal account on social media via video.
