Maak Isu Penculikan Anak, Disdik Asked SD-SMP Management In Semarang To Increase Vigilance

The Semarang City Education Office (Disdik) appealed to school managers and administrators in the capital city of Central Java Province to increase their vigilance following the widespread issue of child kidnapping.

The appeal was contained in a letter numbered B/2367/4201/II/2023 regarding vigilance against child kidnapping attempts. The letter was signed by the Acting Head of the Semarang City Education Office, Suwarto, on February 1, 2023.

"That's right (there is an appeal). For all levels of education under junior high schools (first middle schools)," said Suwarto when asked for confirmation in Semarang, Thursday.

A letter of appeal from the Semarang City Education Office regarding increased vigilance against child kidnapping efforts contained nine points, including an appeal to maximize the security and monitoring of students while in school.

Disdik Semarang appealed to school managers to assign security officers, school guards, and teachers to monitor students while at school and ensure that students' introductions and pick-ups are known parents, guardians of students, or family members.

If you know that the student pick-up is not someone who is known, students must be asked to stay at school while their parents or guardians are contacted to pick them up.

The appeal from the Semarang Disdik also includes restrictions and supervision of students leaving school during break hours, including buying food or snacks outside of school.

In addition, Disdik Semarang asked the utilization of school-owned CCTV equipment to be optimized to monitor students, especially in areas around school gates.

Education Education Education Office asked the coordinators of education units, supervisors, and school supervisors to be asked to carry out monitoring, supervision, and reporting in their respective fostered areas.

Schools are also expected to regularly communicate with parents or guardians of students through WhatsApp (WA) groups.
