Update On COVID-19 As Of January 3: 6,877 Positive Cases And 6,419 Cured Cases
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has released data on developments in handling COVID-19. Based on examination of 41,503 specimens, 6,877 new positive cases were found.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 765,350 people," quoted from data from the Ministry of Health, Sunday, January 3.
Meanwhile, the cases recovered increased by 6,419, so the total was 631,937 people who recovered from COVID-19. Meanwhile, the number of deaths increased by 179 to 22,734 people.
On the other hand, provincial data with the most number of positive cases were in DKI Jakarta. Based on data, 1,658 people in the capital have tested positive for COVID-19. So that the total residents who have been infected have become 189,243 people.
Then, other provinces with a high number of positive cases were still in West Java with 1,232 cases. Then, Central Java with 928 cases, East Java with 599 cases, and South Sulawesi with 595 cases.
Meanwhile, the province with the most recovered cases was also occupied by DKI Jakarta with 1,681 cases. Then, West Java with 1,117 cases, South Sulawesi with 644 cases, East Java with 614, and Central Java with 474 cases.
So far, only 4 provinces have added cases under 10, namely North Maluku, Maluku, Aceh and Gorontalo.
In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 7,470,992. In detail, 7,344,154 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 126,838 specimens using molecular rapid tests (TCM).
"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 15.3 percent," he wrote.
For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 72,027 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
