Police: Information Violators Will Be Acted In Accordance With The Law

JAKARTA - The National Police emphasized that they will take firm action against all parties who violate the Chief of Police's Decree number Mak / 1 / I / 2021 concerning Compliance with the Prohibition of Activities, Use of Symbols and Attributes, and Termination of Activities of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI).

The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan, said that the firm action that the Police would take was referring to violations in accordance with applicable regulations.

"If there are still people who do not comply with this edict, of course the National Police must take steps according to the actions or acts of violations committed by the community in accordance with the prevailing laws and regulations," said Ramadhan in his statement, Sunday, January 3.

As for this announcement, the National Police Chief emphasized that the public should not facilitate FPI activities or use the symbols and attributes of these community organizations.

"The community is not involved either directly or indirectly in supporting and facilitating activities and using FPI symbols and attributes," the Chief of Police was quoted as saying.

In addition, people who find activities and the use of FPI symbols and attributes are asked to report to the police and not take any actions that violate the law.

Furthermore, this edict also mentions that in efforts to curb banners or banners, attributes, to pamphlets, the Police Chief put forward the steps of Satpol PP supported by the TNI-Polri.

Then, the National Police Chief emphasized that the public should not access, upload, or disseminate FPI-related content either through websites or social media.

"Whereas if an act is found to be contrary to this edict, every member of the National Police is obliged to take the necessary action in accordance with the provisions of regulations, legislation, or police discretion," wrote the announcement.

Originally, this edict was issued referring to Joint Decree Number 220-4780 Year 2020, Number M.HH.14.HH.05.05 Year 2020, Number 690 Year 2020, Number 264 Year 2020, Number KB / 3 / XII / 2020, and 320/2020 concerning Prohibition of Activities, Use of Symbols and Attributes, and Termination of FPI Activities.
