Munjul Bias Harbor Supports The Tourism Sectro In Nusa Ceningan
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemehub) has started the construction of the Munjul Bias distribution port on Nusa Ceningan Island, Bali. The existence of this port will support the local tourism sector.
"The construction of the Munjul Bias ferry port is one of the strategic plans for the development of the Land Transportation sub-sector which supports tourism in Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan which is growing rapidly," Budi said in his official statement.
In addition, the construction of the Munjul Bias Ferry Terminal also supports adequate transportation facilities for logistics distribution for Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan.
The same thing was also expressed by Governor I Wayan Koster. According to him, the Munjul Bias ferry port can support the development of the tourism industry in Bali.
"I see this could be a potential for increasing tourism considering Nusa Penida is getting more and more attention from local people and outside Bali," he said.
"We hope that with the infrastructure development in the Bali Province, it will support the regional economic growth maximally by involving the participation of all parties which of course can provide great benefits, especially for the people in Bali Province," explained I Wayan Koster.
The construction of this port uses a budget sourced from the state budget with a contract value of Rp. 97 billion. The implementation is planned in two stages, namely in 2020 to 2021 with the concept of referring to the provisions in the multi-year contract.
This port will serve ferry transportation on the Munjul – Padang Bai Bias Crossing and can also serve fast boats from the mainland of Bali Island. This port will also be equipped with a Ro-Ro dock with a capacity of 750 GT equipped with a movable bridge with a capacity of 50 tons, as well as a fast boat dock with a berth capacity of 4 ships.
Whereas for land facilities (5,000 m2), it consists of a 2-floor terminal building, a waiting parking area and a parking area for departures.
