The Ombudsman Will Hold A Case Meeting Hasya Athallah, UI Students Who DIEd And Become Suspects

The Indonesian Ombudsman received a report from the Hasya family's legal team for alleged maladministration in handling traffic accidents by the South Jakarta Metro Police and the issuance of a post-mortem allegedly issued by a hospital in Jakarta.

The Assistant Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia, Indra Wahyu Bintoro confirmed that his party had received families, attorneys and several members of the ILUNI who submitted reports to the Indonesian Ombudsman through the Ombudsman representing Greater Jakarta.

"We received a report and we already have a team from receiving the verification of the report. We will immediately conduct a study for formal and material, and then if it is the domain and authority of the Ombudsman, then we will make sure to enter the examination stage," said Indra, Wednesday, February 1.

Indra said the Ombudsman had taken action in accordance with the provisions of the law to ask for information and follow up on public reports.

The Ombudsman admitted that he would hold a meeting related to the report of the problem to carry out a report surgery.

"We will determine from the inspection plan, how much we will ask for information. The Ombudsman prioritizes persuasive methods, ways that become a violation at the Ombudsman by asking for information. Our principle is implicit, we listen to many parties, we collect evidence like that," he said.

Currently, the report is still in the verification stage to state that it is the authority or is not the authority of the Ombudsman.

Previously, it was reported that the Hasya family's legal team's complaint report on the alleged maladministration in handling traffic accidents by the South Jakarta Metro Police and the hospital had been received by the Indonesian Ombudsman.

"(The report has been received) Representatives from the Greater Jakarta Ombudsman and the Greater Jakarta Ombudsman examiner," said Gita Paulina, Hasya's family attorney, Wednesday, February 1.

In addition to reporting the South Jakarta Metro Police to the Ombudsman, Hasya's legal team also reported one of the hospitals in Jakarta that handled visum et repertum Muhammad Hasya Athallah Syahputra, a student of FISIP University of Indonesia (UI).
