Considered Too Light, The AGO Regrets The Banding Of The Case Decision Of Fried Oil

The Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) has officially appealed the decision of the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court against five defendants in the corruption case for the export approval of crude palm oil and its derivative products, including cooking oil."Tuesday, January 31, 2023, the Public Prosecutor of the Attorney General's Office and the Central Jakarta District Attorney's Office filed an appeal against the decision of the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court against the defendants," said Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) Ketut Sumedana in his statement, in Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, January 31.The appeal was filed on the light decision of the panel of judges from the public prosecutor's demands against five defendants who were deemed not to have fulfilled the sense of justice in the community. The five defendants, namely the former Director General (Dirjen) of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) Indra Sari Wisnu Wardhana, were sentenced to three years in prison, a fine of Rp. 100 million, a subsidiary of two months. The defendant, Commissioner of PT Wilmar Nabati Indonesia Master Parulian Tumanggor, was sentenced to 1.5 years in prison, a fine of Rp. 100 million, a subsidiary of two months. Then, the defendant Senior Manager of Corporate Affairs of PT Victorindo Alam Lestari Stanley Ma was sentenced to one year in prison, a fine of Rp. 100 million, a subsidiary of two months. Then, the defendant Lin Chie Wei alias Weibinanto Halimdjati, a former member of the Coordinating Minister's Assistance Team for Economic Affairs was sentenced to one year in prison, a fine of Rp. 100 million, a subsidiary of two months. Then, General Manager (GM) of the General Affairs Section of PT Musim Mas Pierre Togar Sitanggang was sentenced to one year in prison, a fine of Rp. 100 million, a subsidiary of two months. The AGO intervened to handle cases of alleged corruption in the provision of crude palm oil (CPO) export facilities and their derivatives that occurred in the period from January 2021 to March 2022.The scarcity of cooking oil, when Indonesia as the largest CPO producer, became a special note for the prosecutor's office to investigate the case, because it involved many people who were affected."The legal appeal is filed because the decision is not in accordance with the public's sense of justice, especially the losses suffered by the community, namely the state economy and including state losses," said Ketut.
