COVID-19 Update As Of January 1: 40,785 Specimens Checked, New Cases Up 8,072
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 40.78 specimens were examined today and as a result, there are 8,072 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 751,270 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Friday, January 1.
Cases recovered today increased by 6,839 so that a total of 617,936 people recovered. Then, 191 positive confirmed cases died and a total of 22,329 people.
The province with the most new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 1,956 new cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.
Furthermore, West Java has 1,504 new cases, Central Java has 897 new cases, East Java has 887 new cases, and South Sulawesi 550 new cases.
The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,649 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 1,210 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 803 recovered cases, Central Java with 570 recovered cases, and South Sulawesi 505 recovered cases.
Then, none of the provinces reported having no new cases today. Provinces that reported new cases under 10 were Aceh with 7 new cases and North Maluku 2 cases.
In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined reached 7,395,959. In detail, 7,270,189 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 125,770 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).
Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 64,818 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.
