Elected Regent Candidates For South Bangka Positive COVID-19

JAKARTA - The Task Force for Handling COVID-19 in the Province of Bangka Belitung Islands stated that the candidate who was elected as Regent of South Bangka in the simultaneous regional head election on December 9, 2020, was positively attacked by COVID-19.

Babel Islands Province COVID-19 Handling Task Force spokesman Andi Budi Prayitno in Pangkalpinang, Friday, said that RH (37), who currently serves as Deputy Regent of South Bangka, was confirmed to be infected with the corona virus after undergoing an examination at the hospital on Thursday, 31 December.

"Currently he is already undergoing isolation," he said.

Meanwhile,

He said that the task force was intensifying the campaign for implementing health protocols to control transmission of the corona virus, including activating Kampung Tegep Mandiri in all villages and carrying out health protocol enforcement operations.

The Task Force, according to him, hopes for the support of religious leaders and religious organizations in providing counseling on the application of health protocols.

He also reminded residents to be disciplined in carrying out health protocols, wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance and avoiding crowds.
