The DKI Provincial Government Is Looking For 95 Thousand Extreme Poor People In Jakarta, Will They Be Made More Prosperous
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will seek and identify Jakarta residents who are categorized as extreme poor based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of DKI Jakarta Province.This was stated in a leadership meeting chaired by the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono and the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government, BPS DKI, as well as the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN).Based on data from BPS DKI Jakarta, there are still around 95 thousand extreme poor people in Jakarta as of March 2022, with an extreme occupancy rate of 0.89 percent of the total 10.7 million people.The calculation of the extreme poverty rate by BPS DKI Jakarta can be seen from the per capita expenditure per day below IDR 11,633 or the accumulated household expenditure per capita below IDR 350,000 per month.Head of the DKI Jakarta Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) Atika Nur Rahmania revealed that this extreme poverty data will be verified by name by address."What is the focus of the discussion, we will identify who the target is by name by address of the 95 thousand which is calculated on aggregate based on the extreme poverty rate," said Atika at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Monday, January 30.After the search and identification process, residents registered in the exrem poor category will be given the handling or intervention of the DKI Provincial Government so that their welfare can increase."The point is we focus on how in a short time to intervene properly by setting the right target," explained Atika.For information, efforts to eradicate extreme poverty are contained in Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 4 of 2022 concerning the Acceleration of the Elimination of Extreme Poverty.The Presidential Instruction, which was signed by President Joko Widodo on June 8, 2022, targets the elimination of extreme poverty in Indonesia by 2024 through various inter-ministerial and institutional programs to local governments.
