FPI Canceled The Government's Complaint Against The State Administrative Court Because They Felt That They Were Wasting Energy
JAKARTA - After being banned by the government, the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) plans to file a lawsuit at the State Administrative Court. It's just that, recently they decided to cancel the lawsuit filing.
"That's right, we canceled (the plan to submit, red) the PTUN," said FPI lawyer Azis Yanuar when contacted by VOI via text message, Friday, January 1.
He denied that this cancellation was carried out because there was already a new FPI declaration which stands for Front United Islam. According to Azis, this cancellation was carried out because his party was reluctant to waste energy contesting the Joint Decree (SKB) of six ministers which banned FPI.
"Not (because there is an Islamic United Front, red). (The cancellation was made) because we consider it a waste of energy," he said.
Previously reported, lawyer for the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Sugito Atmo Prawiro confirmed that he would challenge the government's decision through a joint decree (SKB) which prohibited FPI's activities, activities and attributes from the State Administrative Court (PTUN).
"Later, we will sue them legally because this is a legal process. We will file a PTUN against the decision," said Sugito when met in the Petamburan area, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, December 30.
Sugito said that the resistance through legal channels was carried out on the orders of the FPI leader, Muhammad Rizieq Shihab, who is currently detained at Polda Metro Jaya.
"Habib Rizieq said, please prepare legal steps, sue the PTUN. If, for example, there is an official format from the government regarding the dissolution, we will file a lawsuit against the PTUN," he said.
Sugito said the FPI legal aid team was preparing a process to appeal for the revocation of its organizational license to the PTUN. "As soon as possible we will fly it," he said.
It is known that the Government has prohibited all FPI activities or activities. This prohibition is contained in a joint decree signed by 6 officials.
"So with this prohibition (FPI) has no legal standing, to the central government and local government officials if there is an organization acting on behalf of FPI it is deemed to have no existence and must be rejected because there is no legal standing as of today," said Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security Mahfud MD on Wednesday. , 30 December.
This joint decree was signed by Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian, Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly, Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G Plate, Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, National Police Chief General Idham Azis, Head of the Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) Boy Rafli Amar .
