Presented 437 Programs, TJSL PLN Absorbed 4,019 Local Workers In Sulawesi, Maluku, Papua And NTT

JAKARTA - The PLN Social and Environmental Responsibility Program (TJSL) which was run throughout 2022 was able to touch 38,390 people in the areas of Sulawesi, Maluku, North Maluku, Papua, West Papua, West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara (Sulmapana).

TJSL PLN comes through 473 programs that are felt directly by the community. The program starts from coaching, production, marketing processes, increasing skills and equipment assistance for community businesses, as well as environmental and social empowerment programs for the community around the PLN operational units.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said, through the TJSL program as many as 1,440 community businesses were able to grow so as to create new jobs with the realization of absorption of local workers as many as 4,019 workers.

in addition to building reliable electricity infrastructure, PLN will also continue to run programs that help people's welfare.

This is in accordance with the goals of sustainable development (SDGs) and ISO 26000, that PLN will have a social impact on the community through the TJSL PLN program.

"In 2022 we will focus on the UMK development program, tourism village development, handling issues social issues, the environment and ecosystems and community empowerment," Darmawan said in an official statement, Monday, January 30.

He added that his party is trying to prepare a roadmap from each program, pay attention to the process of utilizing the assistance, then we conduct an assessment and calculation of the effectiveness of the program using the social return of investment (SROI) method.

Darmawan continued, in the future PLN will continue to improve and encourage the birth of equal distribution and economic development of the community through the TJSL PLN care program.

With the assistance and skills training of the UMK group, PLN hopes to encourage the creation of a green ecosystem.

"Through this training and assistance, we hope to be able to become an epicenter of people's economists based on local potential so as to create breakthroughs and business approaches that pay attention to social interests themselves," concluded Darmawan.
