The Police Had Difficulty Revealing The Chemical Flush Case In West Jakarta
JAKARTA - Vindra Yuniko was arrested by the police and became a suspect in the case of sprinkling the chemical liquid in the West Jakarta area. Almost two weeks he was in action. Nine people were victims from the three locations of the incident.
To the police, he admitted that he wanted other people to feel the pain. Now his body is not functioning properly. His back and eyes were injured because he fell from the 3rd floor when he was an AC service employee. From there he had a grudge.
Vindra attacks the victims randomly without planning. He targeted the victim at the location on the route for him to go to work from his home.
The first action took place on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 5. Two junior high school students, A and P, were victims. Their hands and shoulders were blistered as a result of the incident that took place at Jalan Kebon Jeruk Raya, West Jakarta.
The police had difficulty finding Vindra in this case. Because there were few witnesses and the location of the incident was devoid of residents' activities.
"Here (First Incident) we get a few witnesses. At that time, we collected very little information," said the Head of Metro Jaya Police Inspector General Gatot Eddy Pramono in Jakarta, Monday, November 18.
In the second action, or to be precise three days later, there was another sprinkling of chemical liquid in the North Meruya area, Kembangan, West Jakarta. This time targeting Sakina (60), a vegetable trader.
Initially, the police were confident that they could solve this case because there was CCTV at the scene. But, when I checked, the recording quality was poor. Even the witnesses who were questioned at the location could not explain the characteristics of the perpetrators.
"The second incident on the 8th (November) was CCTV, witnesses were there. Only CCTV is a bit vague, so we have a little trouble uncovering it," said Gatot.
The chemical liquid terror act was only revealed when the perpetrator took action to douse six students of SMP Negeri 207. At the scene of the incident there was CCTV with a pretty good picture quality. The characteristics of Vindra were known from there which was strengthened by witness statements at the location.
"(The recording) of CCTV is very clear, supported by many witnesses pointing to this perpetrator. So that we can quickly reveal it," said Gatot.
Vindra was finally arrested. From his confession, the chemical liquid sprinkling had been done four times. However, his last action did not go to the police because it did not have a severe impact on the victim.
"So there were four times he (Vindra) did the watering. Only because the mixture of water and fire soda was a little so it did not affect the victim and no one reported it," concluded Gatot.
