West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil Guarantees The Safety Of Vaccines That Have Reached Biofarma

JAKARTA - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil confirmed that his party, together with elements of the TNI and Polri, guaranteed the security of the Sinovac vaccine package that had arrived at the Biofarma warehouse in Bandung, West Java.

He said the vaccine package came to Biofarma on Thursday at 18.00 WIB. As many as 1.2 million doses of Sinovac vaccine from China have indeed been escorted since they were sent from Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang, Banten to Bandung.

"The police chief reported that at 18.00 WIB the vaccine package arrived at Biofarma's warehouse, escorted by the police and the TNI," he said in Bandung, as reported by Antara.

As a useful material for dealing with COVID-19, he said, the government is not playing games in securing the vaccine.

According to him, Biofarma is currently a vital instrument element in fighting COVID-19. He made sure that security was carried out strictly.

"So it is not only the Biofarma security guard, but there are also the police and the TNI to ensure that the goods are not disturbed in the process of travel or storage in the warehouse, that is our guarantee," he said.

Previously, a joint TNI-Polri team totaling 1,168 personnel were deployed to escort the COVID-19 vaccine journey from Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang, Banten to the head office of PT Bio Farma in Bandung, West Java, following the arrival of Phase II of the Sinovac vaccine at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Thursday afternoon.

The 1.8 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine made by the Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinovac are stored in 11 special refrigerated boxes. The boxes containing the vaccine are then transported using four container trucks.
