Sri Mulyani Calls Port And Industrial Complex To Become Indonesia's Etalase In Business

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani said that ports and industrial complexes are now Indonesia's storefronts in showing how Indonesia is doing business. "The ports and industrial complexes are now no longer a place where people used to see them as slums, basically in the past they were horrified," said Sri Mulyani at the event "Working and Dialogue with Business Actors" in Bekasi Regency, West Java, Friday, January 27. Therefore, the efficiency, cleanliness, and digital technology are currently being intensified by the government in both places. The government realizes that all facilities to support industry, distribution, and logistics in the business world must be getting better. Thus, one of the governments is building a National Logistic Ecosystem (NLE) platform that has implementation targets at 14 Indonesian ports and airports, along with the National Strategy for Corruption Prevention (Stranas PK). Sri Mulyani explained that NLE provides more than 10 services and programs where there are 15 more ministries/agencies (K/L) that collaborate in NLE, so entrepreneurs no longer need to go to each K/L to ask about regulations, processes, and requirements for the ease of a business.

Therefore, the development of NLE aims to make the process of doing business in Indonesia more competitive, both in terms of time, simplification, speed, and ultimately in terms of costs. "With lower costs, it will be more competitive. This is done, simplification of the collaborative process in terms of logistics, services, digital payments, and maintaining governance," he said.
