What's In Internal PKS So That It Doesn't Want Anies Baswedan's Declaration To Be A Presidential Candidate?

JAKARTA - From the start, PKS was actively involved in meetings with Anies Baswedan and the Democrat-NasDem Party. But that doesn't mean that PKS will automatically rush the declaration that the champion in the presidential election is Anies Baswedan.

After the'steal start' NasDem Party, now it is the turn of the Democratic Party to officially express its support for Anies Baswedan to run as a presidential candidate (candidate) in 2024. Support was given in the meeting of the small team at the residence of the former governor of DKI Jakarta, Friday, January 27.

This small team is still hampered by one thing. And this is important. They hope that many Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS) will also immediately convey their support to Anies as requested by the NasDem Party so that the Change Coalition will soon be formed.

Deputy Chairman of the PKS Shura Council Sohibul Iman admitted that they would support Anies Baswedan. If not, said Sohibul, how could he regularly come to small team meetings.

Sohibul said he came to Anies Baswedan's house as the official PKS envoy. It's just that PKS is still waiting for the internal process through the Syuro Council deliberation.

"As stated at the time when the NasDem Democrats delivered the declaration first, we emphasize that the issue of party declarations per party is very dependent on the internal process of each party," explained Sohibul.

But Sohibul has not been able to talk about when to declare it. According to him, PKS will certainly declare it. However, for when it will be declared, according to him, it is an internal process that will be completed by PKS.

"Well, we at PKS also continue to carry out our internal processes and in time we will of course also submit declarations as well as NasDem and Democrats. The problem is the declaration of when it will be our internal process, so we will complete it later in time we will declare it like that," said Sohibul.
