Ferry Irawan's Family Wants Transparent Legal Processes, Not Involved In Public Opinions
JAKARTA - Ferry Irawan's family has reopened their voices regarding Ferry's legal process due to a report made by Venna Melinda on suspicion of domestic violence (KDRT).
Sunan Kalijaga as the lawyer for Ferry Irawan's family revealed what his client asked for. "The family asked that this legal process be clear, clearly in the eyes of the law, not because of public pressure or public opinion built by certain parties," he said when met in the Senayan area, January 27.
The lawyer highlighted the detention of Ferry Irawan, who he considered not transparent. "The family wants the legal process to be transparent, on what basis Mas Ferry is being detained," he continued.
Furthermore, Sunan said that the clarity of the existing legal process was also asked directly by Ferry Irawan's mother. According to him, the mother did not believe one hundred percent of what Venna Melinda said regarding Ferry's treatment during her marriage to Verrell Bramasta's mother and Athalla Naufal.
Following Sunan's statement, Maya, Ferry Irawan's sister also asked for clarity, even though she admitted that she still appreciated the existing legal process.
"If the legal process, we will continue to follow the applicable legal process, according to existing regulations. But if it's a domestic violence problem, we want clarity so that it doesn't happen," said Maya.
"Anyway, our brother's family supports us. He is sad, he can't communicate with us either, we can only support from afar, communicate with lawyers there. Hopefully, the best can be done in the future," he continued.
Regarding Venna's statement claiming to have experienced a series of domestic violence from Ferry in the last 3 months, Maya still doubts it. Based on his vision, his brother's relationship with his wife is very good, even though he hasn't even been married every year.
"If you say there has been domestic violence for the last 3 months, we don't know the family, and we families don't just believe it, because what we see is always sweet, they are very relaxed," concluded Maya.
