High Demand, East Java Enters The Large Five Areas Prone To Drugs
SURABAYA - Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) RI Komjen Pol Petrus Reinhard Golose revealed that East Java (East Java) is included in five drug-prone areas in Indonesia.
"East Java is in the top five when viewed from demand. East Java is a bit high. That's when it comes to bidding and demand theory," said Petrus Golose after giving a public lecture at Wijaya Kusuma University Surabaya (UWKS), quoted by ANTARA Friday, January 27.
However, Petrus Golose revealed that in 2022, drug-prone areas in Indonesia have declined.
"This is because the results of the intervention are carried out. East Java is still quite high in drug-prone because this is the first time it has been implemented in Surabaya. However, the East Java BNN has implemented interventions," he said.
He explained that to reduce drug-prone areas, his party accelerated by cooperating with universities (PT).
"The intervention is fixed in 2023, the most important thing is that we must do it together which includes prevention, rehabilitation, and eradication," he said.
On that occasion Petrus Golose invited UWKS students to fight against drugs.
"Inciting the spirit of 'war on drugs' is a declaration to convey how to save the younger generation," he said.
According to him, UWKS is one of the universities (PT) that declares and gets the best campus award in handling drugs.
"UWKS is determined with BNN to carry an anti-narcotic message through culture," he said.
