COVID-19 Update As Of December 31: 8,074 New Cases From The Examination Of 57,800 Specimens
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 57,800 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 8,074 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 743,198 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Thursday, December 31.
Today's cases increased by 7,356, so that a total of 611,097 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 194 people and a total of 22,138 people.
The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 2,022 new cases and a total of 183,735 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.
Followed by West Java, which has 1,024 new cases with a total of 83,579 cases. Central Java has 939 new cases and a total of 81,716 cases. Then, East Java has 935 new cases and a total of 84,152 cases.
The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,970 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 1,227 recovered cases, South Sulawesi with an increase of 955 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 757 recovered cases.
Then, none of the provinces reported having no new cases today. The province that reported new cases under 10 was Aceh with 4 new cases.
In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 7,355,174. In detail, a total of 7,229,779 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 125,395 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).
Finally, for the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 68,316 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
