TNI Commander Supports COVID-19 Vaccination, Alutsista Ready For Use

JAKARTA - TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto when receiving a visit from Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin, at Subden Denma TNI Headquarters, Jalan Merdeka Barat, Central Jakarta, Thursday, stressed that he was ready to support the implementation of the national COVID-19 vaccination.

Reported by Antara, Thursday, December 31, during the visit, the Minister of Health was accompanied by Deputy Health Minister Dante Saksono Harbuwono, Secretary General of the Ministry of Health drg Oscar Primadi, Director General of Health Services Abdul Kadir, and Plt. Director General of P2P M Budi Hidayat.

During the meeting, the TNI Commander said that the COVID-19 vaccination was a national program, and the TNI was ready to support the national vaccination plan to be carried out by the Ministry of Health.

"The TNI has played an active role in assisting the Indonesian Ministry of Health, especially in preparing human resource capacity and the TNI has carried out the COVID-19 Vaccination Training of Trainers which was held at TNI Headquarters in Cilangkap some time ago," he also said.

In order to achieve the success of the national vaccination, support from all parties, including the TNI, is needed, which has resources ranging from human resources, health facilities and defense equipment (the main weapon of the weapon system).

"Currently, the TNI has prepared the necessary facilities and infrastructure, starting from storage, security, distribution to every health facility, as well as the readiness of health facilities for vaccination in accordance with applicable regulations," said Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto.

Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that in the near future the Ministry of Health would immediately implement a national vaccination as an effort to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19.

"The Ministry of Health requested assistance from the TNI, which is considered to have human resources (HR) and complete health facilities as well as defense equipment in supporting the distribution and implementation of national vaccination throughout Indonesia, especially the outer islands and remote areas," he also said.

According to Budi, the vaccination plan must be carried out by prioritizing the principle of caution and careful preparation.

"There are several things that must be of common concern regarding the national vaccination plan, including the availability of vaccines, readiness of infrastructure, human resources on duty, distribution strategies, and the vaccination process," he also said.
