Judicial Commission Implements Integrity, This Is A List Of 5 Candidates For Ad Hoc HAM Judges Of The Supreme Court
The Judicial Commission (KY) said that candidates for Ad Hoc Judge Human Rights (HAM) at the Supreme Court (MA) must have high integrity to avoid intervention when a judge judges a case.
"If a prospective judge has high integrity, then he must know that the judge must be independent," said Head of Judge Recruitment Division KY Siti Nurdjanah in Jakarta, Friday, January 27, quoted by Antara.
It is believed that a judge who has high integrity can maintain the independence of a judicial institution. If this is owned, Siti believes that no judge will intervene with any party in deciding a case.
"The key is high integrity," said Siti.
To obtain Ad Hoc HAM Judge with integrity, from the beginning of the process until the final stage of the KY selection involved many parties including non-governmental organizations (NGO) who actively voiced human rights.
Not only that, at the interview stage, the KY selection committee provides time for the public and non-governmental organizations to participate in asking directly or exploring human rights issues with each prospective judge.
To note, KY announced the names of prospective judges who passed the health and personality selection of Ad Hoc HAM Judge at the Supreme Court. The announcement was stated in letter Number 02/PENG/PIM/RH.04.04/01/2023.
