South Jakarta Conducts Traffic Blocking During The New Year
JAKARTA - The South Jakarta Metro Police have blocked traffic flow in the South Jakarta area in anticipation of celebrations and crowds on New Year's Eve 2021.
"There are nine traffic blocking points in the South Jakarta area, on New Year's Eve," said South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Budi Sartono, reported by Antara, Thursday.
Budi said that the nine locations of the isolation were Jalan Jenderal Sudirman to avoid convoys and crowds.
Then the city boundary divides there are three points, namely Friday Market, Kebayoran Lama (in front of Budi Luhur University), Pesanggrahan, and the University of Indonesia Flyover, Jagakarsa.
"All blocking activities will begin at 20.00 WIB," said Budi.
Budi emphasized that security on New Year's Eve 2021 was carried out differently because it was during the COVID-19 pandemic so that all activities that were celebratory and crowd were prohibited.
The South Jakarta Metro Police has implemented a security alert by directing personnel consisting of 800 members of the National Police, 90 members of the TNI, 100 members of Satpol PP, 50 members of the Transportation Agency and 10 members of the Health Service.
Along with securing New Year's Eve, the South Jakarta Metro Police also secured the churches at 10 points in South Jakarta.
"Furthermore, we are also preparing a COVID-19 Hunting Team to disperse the crowds in the South Jakarta area," said Budi.
The COVID-19 hunting team, continued Budi, there were three divided into three districts that would take action against people who were still holding crowds.
Towards the turn of the year, Budi appealed to the people of South Jakarta not to carry out activities that cause crowds.
"For people outside Jakarta, including Depok City, Tangerang City and South Tangerang City, we urge you not to enter Jakarta after 20.00 WIB if there is no urgent need," said Budi.
