PGN Starting The 2023 Earth Gas Network Program In The Cities Of Yogyakarta And Sleman
JAKARTA - PT PGN Tbk as Pertamina Gas Subholding has started to implement the expansion of the household gas network (jargas) in the Yogyakarta area. In 2023, PGN plans to build 12,900 Home Connections (SR) in Yogyakarta.
Currently, PGN is conducting market penetration in the cities of Yogyakarta and Sleman, precisely in Gondokusuman District and Depok District to attract customer candidate requirements.
PGN targets the construction of 5,900 SR in Gondokusuman District, which is spread across 4 (four) urban villages. Meanwhile, in Depok District, Kab. Sleman, PGN plans to build around 7,000 SR. This number is more than the initial plan when the construction agreement was signed between PGN SOR III and the Sleman Regency Government in October 2022.
"The PGN Sales Team is intensively carrying out the socialization of jargas or GasKita products aimed at households and small businesses. We hope that many potential customers in Gondokusuman and Caturtunggal sub-districts are interested in switching to using natural gas from PGN," explained General Manager of PGN Sales Operation Region III (SOR III) Edi Armawiria, in his statement, Thursday, January 26.

"The Yogyakarta - Sleman area is currently not connected to the natural gas transmission pipeline. Therefore, PGN will supply natural gas with a non-pipeline scheme, namely through CNG or Compressed Natural Gas as a beyond pipeline mode owned by PGN Group. It is hoped that this phase of using CNG can be used as a period of bridging towards gas distribution using pipelines. The distribution through this CNG mode is a manifestation of the realization of PGN's commitment to providing good energy to the Special Region of Yogyakarta & Sleman, "explained Edi.
According to Edi, the expansion of massive natural gas services in Yogyakarta - Sleman is a challenge for PGN, because this area is a new area for PGN operations. However, PGN continues to make its best efforts to the people of Yogyakarta - Sleman in order to benefit from natural gas.
In addition to households, PGN is also ready to serve customers in the MSME and commercial sectors. For business actors, the use of natural gas can save more competitive price production costs than fuel oil or tube gas that is commonly used.
"Utilization of natural gas is more practical, efficient and safe and will provide a separate experience for the community. Using natural gas can save fuel costs so that it is very suitable for business. Concerns of running out of gas are also very minimal, because gas flows 24 hours," added Edi.
Along with the expansion in Yogyakarta, jargas in Semarang City will also be added around 5,640 SR covering 6 urban villages spread across Central, West, and East Semarang.
