Fulham Cancels Match Against Spurs Due To New Findings Of COVID-19 Cases

JAKARTA - Fulham canceled the match against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League due to the discovery of a new COVID-19 case at the West London club.

Launching Antara, the match is planned to be played at 18.00 GMT (01.00 WIB) at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Fulham asked for the match to be postponed and the decision to be confirmed three hours before kickoff.

On Tuesday, the latest tests for COVID-19 found 18 people infected with the virus. The number of 18 people is the highest finding from a regular COVID-19 test.

"The Premier League informed us of this decision this afternoon, namely that Fulham requested a postponement of the match due to a number of positive cases of COVID-19 among their players and staff," Tottenham Hotspur released a statement on their official website.

"Everyone at Tottenham Hotspur wishes them safety and a speedy recovery to all those affected at Fulham," he added.

On Monday, Manchester City's match at Everton's headquarters was postponed four hours before the start at Goodison Park, due to the spread of COVID-19 at the club.
