PSBS Biak, Liga 2 Club Which Rejects Competition Continued Talks About Alleged Bribery And Conspiracy

JAKARTA - PSBS Biak became a League 2 club that refused to continue the competition after being stopped due to the tragedy of the Kanjuruhan Stadium. PSBS Biak manager Jimmy Carter Kapissa said the refusal was based on several things and reasons.

He also firmly denied that this rejection was driven by disbursement of funds or bribes.

"There are issues related to bribes of 15 million rupiah which are accused of clubs that refuse League 2 to continue, PSBS Biak has never received the money, either directly or indirectly," explained Jimmy Kapissa in a written statement received by Voi.id on Wednesday, January 25.

Previously it was reported that the 2022/2023 Liga 2 competition would no longer be continued. This was based on the decision of the PSSI Executive Committee (Exco) Meeting on January 12, 2023.

The main reason the decision was taken was because most League 2 clubs refused because there was a bribe asking them to agree to stop the competition.

There are allegations of conspiracy. The reason is, there are reports of falsification of signatures made by several League 2 clubs that refuse competition to be stopped.

"We have never collaborated with any club to refuse or continue the competition as published in online news in some media," he continued.

Regarding the decision of PSBS Biak which finally called for rejection after the Owner's Meeting of Liga 2 Indonesia agenda, Tuesday, January 24, 2023, this was due to several reasons. Among them are financial matters.

"Competition is entangled until it is stopped, of course, it has consequences on the financial problems of the club which is indeed very burdened by the incident of the Kanjuruhan tragedy," said Jimmy.

"I hope the Ministry of Youth and Sports will also find a solution to the clubs affected by the financial impact of the tragedy," he continued.
