DKI Targets Construction Of The Jakarta Velodrome-Manggarai LRT Starting This Year, Capai Crossing High 30 Meters

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is targeting the continuation of the phase 2 Jakarta LRT development with the Velodrome route to Manggarai to be carried out this year.Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta had previously sent a letter of approval for the Velodrome-Manggarai route to the Minister of Transportation. Currently, DKI is still waiting for the issuance of the trace permit."The Director General of Railways has held a technical discussion meeting related to the Governor's proposal for us to wait for that. We hope (the issuance of permits) soon, because we also hope that in 2023 the construction will begin," Syafrin told reporters, Wednesday, January 25.Syafrin explained, in the process licensing application document, the DKI Provincial Government also includes the results of a feasibility study as well as other supporting technical documents.This feasibility study that was just sent is a renewal of the old documents. Considering, in 2018, the DKI Provincial Government made a study on the Jakarta Velodrome-Dukuh Atas LRT route which also passed through the Manggarai area."So the previous study has been carried out. Previously, 2018 was proposed to the Ministry of Transportation for the LRT route, but at that time the proposed route was from Velodrome-Manggarai to Dukuh Atas," said Syafrin.However, the plan for the phase 2 LRT Jakarta route was changed to Kelapa Gading-JIS during Anies Baswedan's tenure as Governor of DKI, before finally being returned to Velodrome-Manggarai when Heru Budi Hartono led Jakarta.From this feasibility study document, one of the concerns is the high adjustment of the LRT railroad flyover which reaches 30 meters above the ground level to its safety aspect.This is because this must adjust the integration with Commuter Line Manggarai Station, which is planned to be used as the KRL central station, long-distance train, and high-speed train."In Manggarai, it has been developed into an ultimate station, the central station is KRL. Therefore, our rail span of the Jakarta LRT must adjust. For the Velodrome-Manggarai LRT station, we will adjust it, precisely around the Manggarai terminal, in front of Pasar Raya exactly," he added.
