BNI With The Highest Profits In History Of IDR 18.3 Trillion In 2022
AKARTA PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk. (BNI) managed to achieve a consolidated net profit of IDR 18.3 trillion in 2022.
That figure grew 68 percent year on year (yoy) compared to the 2021 period.
BNI President Director Royke Tumilaar said last year's slick score was the company's biggest profit in history.
"BNI managed to close 2022 by scoring an impressive performance and managed to surpass the market consensus," he told the media crew on Tuesday, January 24.
According to Royke, this excellent performance was realized through the hard work of all BNI personnel in carrying out the strategic policies set, in the midst of the 2022 economic recovery period and efforts to ensure that the company's transformation agenda continues according to plan.
Royke explained that the moncer results were supported by credit distribution which grew 10.9 percent to Rp646.1 trillion.
Meanwhile, Net Interest Margin (NIM) is maintained at the level of 4.8 percent.
"Healthy credit growth is supported by business expansion of top-tier debtors and their derivative businesses from the value chain debtors," he said.
In terms of liquidity, BNI managed to record a strong growth in the Current Account Saving Account (CASA) of 10.1 percent, which resulted from the company's strategy to build a CASA transaction based, through the provision of comprehensive and reliable financial and transaction solutions. Then, fee based income (FBI) growth was recorded at 8.7 percent to Rp 14.8 trillion.
"This is achieved by shifting the FBI's growth pattern to support the government's efforts to reduce transfer costs through the BI Fast program in line with the trend of declining interbank transfer transactions," he added.
Royke added that the positive performance results had an impact on Preprovisioning Operating Profit (PPOP) which was recorded at IDR 34.4 trillion or grew 10.8 percent.
In addition, efforts to improve credit quality through an effective credit policy were able to reduce the NPL ratio by 90 basis points (bps) on an annual basis to 2.8 percent.
This strong PPOP growth and followed by improved asset quality made us able to close 2022 with encouraging achievements. This net profit is the highest in history and is above market expectations," concluded Royke.
