Santri Who Drowned In The Cipanundan Cirebon River Found Dead
The joint SAR team found a student Ali Mujahidin (15) who drowned in the Cipanundan River, Cirebon Regency, West Java, on Monday (23/1) who was dead. The body has been handed over to the pesantren.
"The victim on behalf of Ali Mujahidin was found on Tuesday (24/1) at around 09.30 WIB," said Head of Bandung Basarnas Jumaril in a written message received in Cirebon, Tuesday, January 24, as reported by Antara.
Jumaril said the victim was found 300 meters from the scene of the incident in the Cipanundan River, airfall Village, Pangenan District, Cirebon Regency, in a state of death.
After the evacuation, the victim was immediately taken to the Gedongan Islamic Boarding School Mosque to be bathed and prayed.
"We have handed over the victim to the Islamic boarding school, as well as the victim's family," he said.
He added that the victim drowned in the Cipanundan River on Monday (23/1) while swimming with his friends, but the current of the river at that time was heavy causing the victim to be dragged and drowned, even though his friend had helped him.
After receiving the report, his party immediately dispatched a team to search for victims, using rubber boats and other water search equipment.
For the search, by combing the flow of the Cipanundan River, both from the edge and middle of the river through dives, because it is suspected that the victim was caught in a branch in the river.
Meanwhile, SAR elements involved include Basarnas (Cirebon SAR Post), TNI AL Pos Gebang, Pangenan Koramil, West Java Police Polair Dit, Cirebon Den C Brimob Sat, Pangenan Police, Cirebon BPBD, and others.
"After the victim was found, the SAR elements involved returned to their respective units and the search was closed," he said.
