Deceiving The Daughter of Saudi Arabia King, Mother And Child Sentenced To 19 Years In Prison At Gianyar District Court

GIANYAR - The panel of judges at the Gianyar District Court, Bali, sentenced Eka Augusta Herriyani and Evie Marindo Christina to 19 years in prison. The two were involved in a case of fraud and money laundering with the victim's daughter of the King of Saudi Arabia, Princess Lolwah bint Muhammed Bin Abdullah Al Saud.

Head of Intelligence at the Gianyar District Attorney's Office (Kejari) I Gde Ancana said during the hearing to read out the verdict, the panel of judges sentenced the two defendants to 19 years in prison each. This verdict is the same as demanded by the Public Prosecutor (JPU) at the Gianyar High Court, Bali.

"Furthermore, the evidence, Numbers 1 to 590 (copy of document) remains attached to the case file, which is the same as the prosecutor's demands, and evidence Numbers 591 to 637, was returned to the victim witness Princess Lolwah," said I Gde Ancana, in his written statement, Tuesday, January 24th.

It was explained, in the reading of the decision, on the evidence, there was a difference between the charge sheet and the decision. In the demand letter, there are two Property Rights Certificates (SHM) which were returned to other witnesses because they were obtained from auction results.

Meanwhile, in the decision, all evidence with economic value was returned to the witness, the victim, Princess Lolwah.

"Based on this decision, both the Gianyar District Prosecutor's Office and the defendant's attorney stated that they were still thinking about filing an appeal," he said.

The embezzlement case began on April 27 2011 to September 16 2018 with the victim the daughter of the King of Saudi Arabia, Princess Lolwah Binti Muhammed Bin Abdullah Al Saud.

Princess Lolwah became a victim of fraud by an Indonesian citizen (WNI). The victim was tricked into buying a plot of land and villa property in Bali for around 36 million USD or IDR 512 billion.
