Sentenced With Life In Prison, Ferdy Sambo Filed A Defense Today

JAKARTA - The defendant Ferdy Sambo will read out a memorandum of defense or defense plea in the case of the alleged premeditated murder of Brigadier Yosua Hutabarat alias Brigadier J today. The public prosecutor (JPU) previously demanded that Ferdy Sambo be sentenced to life imprisonment.

"Ferdy Sambo's trial is for defense," said South Jakarta District Court Public Relations official, Djuyamto, when contacted, Tuesday, January 24.

In the prosecutor's charge, Ferdy Sambo is said to have participated in shooting Brigadier J. The shot was aimed at the back of the head.

Apart from that, the former Head of the Propam Division was also said to have deliberately ordered Richard Eliezer alias Bharada E to secure Brigadier J's firearms. The aim was to make the execution process easier.

The process of executing Brigadier J was carried out at Ferdy Sambo's official residence which was located at the Polri complex, Duren Tiga, South Jakarta, on 8 July.

"The defendant Ferdy Sambo ordered the witness Richard Eliezer to take the weapon of the victim Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat and the HS firearm was handed over to the defendant with the aim that the victim Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat would be easier to execute," said the prosecutor.

In his indictment, the prosecutor concluded that the motive for the premeditated murder of Brigadier J was due to an affair between Brigadier J and Putri Candrawathi that occurred in Magelang on July 7.

The conclusion of this motive was conveyed by the prosecutor when reading out the charges against the accused, Kuat Ma'ruf.

"The legal fact is that on Thursday 7 July 2022 around the afternoon at Ferdy Sambo's house in Magelang, an affair occurred between the victim Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat alias Brigadier J and Putri Candrawathi," said the prosecutor.
