Secretary General Of PAN Respects Ridwan Kamil's Decision To Join As A Cadre Of The Golkar Party
Secretary General (Secretary General) of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Eddy Soeparno said he respected the decision of West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil to join as a cadre of the Golkar Party.
"When Kang Emil decides to join Golkar, of course we will respect the decision," said Eddy in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Monday, January 23.
This was conveyed in response to the news that PAN was rumored to be targeting Ridwan Kamil to join as a cadre of his party.
"Oh no, we are also together, trying, together looking for compatibility, both exploring each other," he said.
He also welcomed being optimistic about the closeness of Ridwan Kamil to the Golkar Party, which is his party coalition partner. According to him, the more public figures who have a good track record of playing an active role in political parties, the more bright Indonesia's politics will be in the future.
"So I congratulate Kang Emil, including congratulations to Golkar getting Kang Emil, a West Java figure, a governor who has a pretty good track record," said the Deputy Chairman of Commission VII DPR.
Eddy admitted that his party remains in good relations with Ridwan Kamil after officially joining the Golkar Party. This, he continued, also did not dampen PAN's determination to continue to play an active role for the community.
"Even though the boat is different, I think our mission remains the same," he said.
He said that so far there has been no discussion regarding Ridwan Kamil's name within the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) internally. KIB, he said, was focusing on discussing the discourse on changing the open proportional system to be closed in elections.
"Nothing yet, I think it will be discussed later, after all, it's only been a matter of weeks before joining the Golkar Party," he said.
He said KIB would also not be in a hurry to immediately announce the presidential and vice presidential candidates he promoted, because he already had his own schedule and strategy.
"It turns out that there are various parties that announce who will be the presidential candidate, even saying that the coalition has formed does not make us feel left behind in the train," he said.
Talks related to the presidential and vice-presidential candidates, said Eddy, will be discussed together and the decision will be taken collectively collegially, after going through an internal study and process of KIB.
He also emphasized that so far PAN together with the Golkar Party and PPP are still solid in KIB meetings.
"Very solid, the general chairmen speak very regularly, we in the working team also speak very regularly," said Eddy.
Earlier, Wednesday, January 18, Ridwan Kamil announced that he had officially joined as a cadre of the Golkar Party in his position as Deputy General Chair for the Raising of Voters and co-chairs of the Golkar Party.
"I actually didn't ask, it's up to Mr. Airlangga. But Mr. Airlangga was kind to put me in the position of Deputy General Chair in the (field) Raising of Voters and Co-chairs of Bappilu, the Election Winning Body," said Ridwan Kamil at the Golkar Party DPP Office, Jakarta.
