JAKARTA - The Bandung Regency Tourism and Culture Office (Disparbud) said tourism activities in Bandung Regency, especially in a number of tourist attractions in the South Bandung area began to recover as before the COVID-19 pandemic. Head of Disbudpar Bandung Regency Wawan A Ridwan said when compared to before the pandemic, or in 2019, tourism activities in Bandung Regency had recovered by around 80 percent. He explained that tourist attractions in Bandung or South Bandung Regency are central in three regions, namely Pangalengan, Ciwidey, and Rancabali (Pacira). In addition to existing tourist attractions, according to him, tourism village development is also one of the factors that improve tourism activities in Bandung Regency. According to Wawan, there are as many as 50 tourist villages that are accompanied by the Bandung Regency Government (Pemkab) to be able to develop the economy, especially local communities.

"In fact, most people want to enjoy tourism in Bandung Regency," he said. Meanwhile, Bandung Regent Dadang Supriatna said that his party is targeting 100 tourist villages to be formed in 2023. That way, he believes the unemployment rate, which initially reached 8.5 percent, could drop to 6.98 percent. "Our target is to create 35 thousand MSME players. Currently, 13 thousand new jobs have been created," said Dadang.
