Gugudan Disbanded As Of December 31, 2020
JAKARTA - Jellyfish Entertainment's K-pop group, Gugudan, will disband on December 31 tomorrow.
Today, Jellyfish shared an official statement stating the end of the Gugudan group.
“The group Gugudan which has been loved a lot since debut will end group activities on December 31st. The agency and the members agreed to disband after a long discussion. "

Through this statement, Jellyfish will support the continuation of the career of each member of Gugudan both in acting and music.
“We want to thank fans once again for their support and we apologize for this announcement. Please give lots of love to the members who are starting new careers, ”concluded the Jellyfish agency representative.
Gugudan is a female K-pop group from Jellyfish that debuted in 2016. Some of their trainees, Nayoung, Sejeong, and Mina participated in the Produce 101 competition and gained great attention.
Gugudan consists of Mimi, Hana, Haebin, Nayoung, Sejeong, Sally, Soyee, Mina, Hyeyeon. Starting his career with the song Wonderland from the album Act. 1 The Little Mermaid, they always present a different and unique concept from the group in general.
In 2017, Jellyfish founded the subunit Gugudan 5959 consisting of Mina and Hyeyeon. But because Hyeyeon left, the group became inactive. Then in June 2018, a new subunit was brought back, Gugudan SeMiNa namely Sejeong, Mina, and Nayoung where the three of them released two tracks, one of which was named SeMiNa.
Gugudan continued promoting Act by releasing Narcissus and Chococo Factory. In the middle of promotions, Hyeyeon left the group in October 2018. Then they released the album Act. 5 New Action with the single Not That Type in 2019.
Having not appeared in public for a long time, Sally was seen participating in the Chinese version of the Produce 101 competition, Produce Camp 2020 in April. She was ranked sixth and entered the winning group BonBon Girls 303.
Among all the members, only Mina and Sejeong are actively promoting. Mina played roles in Dokgo Rewind, Children of the 20th Century, Tale of Fairy, Hotel Del Luna, and Summer Guys. Mina is also a presenter for the music show MBC Music Core.
Sejeong has also tried music as a soloist and acting world. He debuted with Plant and the song Whale and filled several Korean drama soundtracks. Currently, his name has soared because of the Korean drama The Uncanny Counter in which Sejeong plays Do Ha Na.
