Starting Next Year, Vehicles That Do Not Pass The Emission Test In DKI Will Be Ticketed
JAKARTA - Acting Head of the DKI Jakarta Environment Agency, Syaripudin, said that motorized vehicles that do not carry out exhaust emission tests or meet emission thresholds will be fined.
This is in accordance with the Regulation of the Governor of DKI Number 66 of 2020 concerning Motor Vehicle Exhaust Emission Testing. This regulation will take effect from January 2020 or six months after being promulgated in July 2020.
"Individual passenger cars or motorbikes over three years old that do not carry out the emission test or do not pass the exhaust emission test in the future will be subject to ticket enforcement," said Syaripudin in his statement, Wednesday, December 30.
Law enforcement on the roads will be carried out by the police and the Department of Transportation which refers to Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation.
In Articles 285 and 286, the threat of a maximum fine of IDR 250,000 for motorbikes and a maximum penalty of IDR 500,000 for cars.
"Law enforcement in the form of sanctions in accordance with statutory regulations regarding road traffic and transportation can be imposed on motorized vehicle owners who do not carry out their obligations to carry out exhaust gas emission tests and meet emission thresholds," he explained.
In addition, the DKI Provincial Government will also provide the highest parking rates for cars and motorbikes that do not carry out emission tests or do not pass the emission test.
"If motorized vehicle owners who do not pass the emission test use parking facilities in DKI Jakarta, in the future they will automatically be charged the highest parking rate that applies when paying," said Saripudin.
The amount of the parking service tariff is regulated in Governor Regulation Number 31 of 2017. In this regulation, it means that the highest parking service tariff for motorbike types is IDR 6 thousand. Then, buses, trucks, sedans, jeeps, minibuses, pick-ups, and the like for Rp. 12 thousand. Meanwhile, a bicycle is parked at IDR 1,000 per person.
