Officially Become Part Of Chelsea, Noni Madueke Follows In Eden Hazard's Traces
JAKARTA - Chelsea has officially brought in Noni Madueke from PSV Eindhoven. So part of the Blues, this winger admits that he wants to be like Eden Hazard, who has also defended this club.
Chelsea have signed Madueke for seven and a half years with the option of an extension of one year. The British player was bought for a dowry of 35 million euros, equivalent to Rp573 billion.
After becoming part of the team, the 20-year-old was asked who the Chelsea players were most admired. Madueke also chose the Belgian national team player, Eden Hazard, who spent seven years with Chelsea as his idol.
I probably have to say (my idol) Eden Hazard. Only he is the type of player who 'frees my from comfort, is very interesting in terms of talent and is able to get people out of comfort, creativity, and the like," said Madueke, quoted by Goal International, Sunday 22 January.
Madueke also did not hesitate to reveal that he wanted to be like Eden Hazard, who has excelled at Stamford Bridge in the future. Moreover, he is also confident because he feels he has a similar style of playing with the Belgian star.
"There are some similarities but I hope to be as good as he (Hazard) one day," he said.
Before joining Chelsea, Madueke came from the young Tottenham Hotspur academy in 2018. Since joining PSV Eindhoven, he has made 80 senior appearances for the Dutch League giant.
However, Madueke's appearance was limited by an ankle injury which ruled him out during the first two months of the season. Madueke himself is a player with a British passport. He had played in the youth teams Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace.
