New Mode Of Smuggling Sabu-Sabu In Children's Toy Balls
JAKARTA - The Directorate of Narcotics at Polda Metro Jaya is a new mode of smuggling of liquid methamphetamine drugs that are put into children's toy balls. There are three suspects who have been arrested by the police in connection with this international network of drug smuggling.
Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus said the disclosure began when there was information from the Jakarta Customs and Excise regarding the smuggling of crystal methamphetamine from Malaysia via postal packages. So that information was followed up.
Finally, the package that had been targeted arrived in Jakarta. Three carriers and recipients of packages with the initials I, E and R were arrested. It is known that there are five balls of children's toys stored in the package.
"The package is shaped like a child's toy. There are 5 packages of toys containing liquid crystal methamphetamine. This is a new mode. These are 5 balls totaling 1,962 grams or nearly 2 kilos," said Yusri in Jakarta, Monday, February 3.
Based on the suspect's statement, the methamphetamine-type drug was melted before being put into a toy ball. Although at first glance it looks like a toy, based on a drug detector, the toy balls contain methamphetamine or crystal methamphetamine.
From the results of the interim examination, the mastermind of the smuggling of liquid crystal methamphetamine was a man named Aliong who was a prisoner at Cipinang Prison, East Jakarta.
