Chelsea Out Of Money Again Making Expenditures Of Players

JAKARTA - Chelsea seemed crazy in the transfer market for players in January 2023. New players were brought back to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea officially signed Noni Madueke from Dutch club PSV Eindhoven. The player was bought for 35 million euros (around Rp573 billion).

Noni Madueke signed a seven-and-a-half year contract with the London-based club. He had the opportunity to make his debut against Liverpool on Saturday, January 21, evening.

"I am very happy to be joining one of the best clubs in the world, namely Chelsea," Madueke said on the official Chelsea website quoted by Antara via AFP.

Madueke itself is a Crystal Palace academy dropout. He is also noted to have played for the Tottenham Hotspur youth team.

"Going back to England and playing in the Premier League England is a dream for me and my family and I can't wait to get started," said the 20-year-old.

Madueke scored 20 goals in 80 appearances for PSV since joining the Dutch giants in 2018.

The owner of Chelsea, Todd Boehly believes Madueke can compete in the Blues first team. "We are delighted to be able to bring Madueke to Chelsea. He is an extraordinary talent who has proven his quality in recent years at PSV," said Boehly.

"He plays in one of the best European leagues. We were very happy when he chose to join Chelsea as his new club. I'm sure he will be an important player in this team," he said.

Madueke is the Blues' seventh new player. Previously, they had poured large funds to bring Mykhaylo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk.

In addition, Graham Potter's team has also completed the transfer of Joao Felix, Benoit Badiamile, David Datro Fofana and Andrey Santos.
